HVAC

Heating, cooling, and indoor air quality — from a refrigerant recharge to a full system replacement.

Cooling
Anything that keeps your home cool: central AC, condensers, refrigerant, electrical components inside the outdoor unit.
Cooling diagnostic visit
Tech identifies what's wrong with your AC and gives you a flat price to fix it. Covered by the service call fee.
Common symptomsAC blows warm air · outside unit doesn't run · house won't cool below a set temperature
Capacitor replacement
The most common AC repair. The capacitor stores the jolt of power that starts your compressor and fan motor; it's a cheap part that fails often, especially after hot summers.
Common symptomsoutside unit hums but the fan doesn't spin · AC clicks on then immediately shuts off · fan blades start when nudged with a stick
Contactor replacement
An electrical relay that tells your outdoor unit to turn on. Burns out from heat and arcing over time.
Common symptomsoutside unit completely dead · buzzing from the disconnect box · AC won't respond to the thermostat
Refrigerant recharge
Adds R-410A refrigerant to a system that's running low. If it keeps going low, you have a leak (see below) — recharging without finding the leak is a temporary fix.
Common symptomsAC runs constantly but house never gets cool · ice on the indoor copper lines · warm air from vents on a hot day
Refrigerant leak detection & repair
Locates the leak in the refrigerant system (line set, evaporator, condenser coil) and seals or replaces the leaking component before recharging.
Common symptomshad a recharge and the AC stopped cooling again · oily residue on copper line connections · hissing near the indoor or outdoor coil
Hard-start kit install
A booster that helps an aging compressor start under load. Buys time on an older system that's struggling but not ready to be replaced.
Common symptomsAC trips the breaker on hot days · compressor groans loudly when starting · lights dim when the AC kicks on
Outdoor unit (condenser) cleaning
Removes years of dirt, grass, leaves, and pet hair from the condenser coil and fan. Restores efficiency on a unit that's struggling to dump heat.
Common symptomsAC runs all day in summer · outdoor unit visibly dirty / clogged with debris · high electric bills
Compressor replacement
Big-ticket repair. The compressor is the heart of an AC system; on older units, replacement often costs close to a new system, so we'll talk options before we cut.
Common symptomsAC unit getting older (10+ years) and won't cool · tech told you the compressor is locked up or shorted · loud knocking from the outdoor unit before it died
Central AC system replacement
Full replacement of the outdoor condenser and indoor evaporator coil. Sized to your home, with options across efficiency tiers (SEER ratings).
Heating
Furnaces, boilers, and heat pumps — from no-heat emergencies to seasonal tune-ups.
Heating diagnostic visit
Tech finds what's keeping your heat from running and gives you a flat price to fix it. Covered by the service call fee.
Common symptomsno heat · furnace blows cold air · thermostat reads a different temp than the house
Furnace tune-up
Pre-winter maintenance: clean burners, check flame, test gas pressure, replace filter, verify safety controls. Should be done annually.
Hot surface igniter replacement
A ceramic igniter that lights the gas burner. Brittle by nature; cracks from age or thermal shock.
Common symptomsfurnace clicks but never fires · no heat after a power outage · you can hear the inducer fan but no flame
Flame sensor cleaning or replacement
A small rod that confirms the burner is actually lit. When dirty or failing, it shuts the burner off as a safety, even though the flame is good.
Common symptomsfurnace lights for a few seconds then shuts off · furnace short-cycles on cold mornings
Thermocouple replacement
Older standing-pilot furnaces and boilers. Senses the pilot flame and keeps the gas valve open; fails over time.
Common symptomspilot light won't stay lit · older furnace or boiler with no heat
Draft inducer motor replacement
A small fan that pulls combustion gases through the heat exchanger and out the flue. Bearings fail; furnace locks out as a safety when it does.
Common symptomsloud whirring or grinding from the furnace · furnace won't start; error code references pressure switch or inducer
Heat exchanger inspection
A safety check for cracks in the heat exchanger that can leak carbon monoxide. Recommended on any furnace 10+ years old, or after a CO alarm.
Furnace replacement
Full replacement, sized to your home and ductwork. Options across efficiency (80% to 96%+ AFUE) and single-stage / two-stage / variable-speed.
Boiler diagnostic & repair
Hydronic (hot water or steam) heating systems. Common repairs: circulator pumps, expansion tanks, low-water cutoffs, zone valves.
Common symptomsno hot water in baseboards or radiators · boiler runs but rooms stay cold · leaks around the boiler
Heat pump diagnostic & repair
Heat pumps move heat in either direction (heating in winter, cooling in summer). Common heating-mode failures involve the reversing valve, defrost cycle, or auxiliary heat strips.
Common symptomsheat pump only blowing lukewarm air in winter · outdoor unit iced over in cold weather · heat strips running constantly (high electric bill)
Indoor air quality
Filtration, humidity control, and the components inside your air handler that affect what you actually breathe.
High-efficiency filter replacement
Upgrade from a basic filter to a higher-MERV or HEPA media filter. Reduces dust, allergens, and load on your blower motor.
Evaporator coil cleaning
The indoor coil that removes heat from your air. Years of dust, pet dander, and bacteria accumulate on it; a deep clean restores cooling performance and removes that musty smell.
Common symptomsmusty smell when AC runs · AC isn't cooling like it used to · weak airflow at the vents
Condensate drain cleaning
The drain that carries away water condensed off your evaporator coil. Algae and biofilm clog it, then water backs up and trips the safety switch — or floods your floor.
Common symptomsAC stops running on humid days · water on the floor near the indoor unit · ceiling stain below an attic air handler
Condensate pump replacement
A small pump that lifts condensate water out of basements and attics where gravity drainage isn't possible. Motors burn out; floats stick.
Common symptomsAC stopped running and there's a small box near the indoor unit · humming with no water moving
Whole-house humidifier installation
Bypass or fan-powered humidifier mounted to the furnace. Adds moisture to dry winter air to prevent dry skin, static shocks, and cracked wood floors.
Whole-house dehumidifier installation
Pulls humidity out of the air independent of cooling. Useful in basements, crawlspaces, or homes that feel clammy on mild days when the AC isn't running.
Duct cleaning
Mechanical cleaning of supply and return ducts. Most useful after a renovation, after pet ownership, or if you've noticed black dust around your registers.
UV light installation
A UV-C lamp inside your air handler that kills mold and bacteria on the evaporator coil. Particularly useful in humid climates.
